Restoran Mo Sang Kor’s bak kut teh recipe has been a family secret for many years. The herbal soup is very rich and tasty, and produces an “oily” sensation in the mouth. We ordered a serving of pork belly (五花肉), which gives us a balanced mixture of lean meat and fat.
One of our favorite pork cuts is the pork knee (猪脚腕). We love the jelly-like texture of ligaments. Unfortunately, the pork knee is very fattening so we ought to eat in moderation.
Bak kut teh is customarily enjoyed with Chinese tea because tea helps to cleanse the palate after the meal. We ordered a teapot of tie guan yin (铁观音) for which the restaurant charges RM1.00 per person.
Like most bak kut teh restaurants in Klang, Restoran Mo Sang Kor charges the same price (RM10.00) for every serving of bak kut teh regardless of pork cuts. It is common for restaurants to reserve bestselling parts for regular customers.
