Sunway Hotel Georgetown and Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya are jointly hosting a preview of the upcoming Christmas Eve Seafood Buffet Dinner. The menu is crafted by Executive Chef How, a 34-years veteran in the culinary line who has served in many hotels around the world.
Starting at the carving station, the Oven-Roasted Turkey is an essential dish during Christmas. As per tradition, the bird contains chestnut stuffing. Giblet gravy and cranberry sauce are prepared to go with the turkey. Other delectable delicacies here are Marinated Lamb Rack With Herb Crust, and Roasted Virginia Chicken Ham With Caramelized Pineapple Gravy.
Next, Buttermilk Crispy Fried Chicken has a lovely coating that truly delights the palate. The poultry dish is served with sweet chili sauce. Also present this evening is Braised Beef Brisket garnished with juicy asparagus.
Wok-Poached Squids are cooked with a special blend of soy sauce. The squids are neither too tough nor too soft. Meanwhile, the vegetarian dish of Broccoli With Roasted Almonds serves to cleanse the palate between savory bites.
Pineapple Fried Rice is one of my favorite dishes this evening. Cooked with pineapples and dried shrimps, the rice has a mouthwatering taste that is absolutely gratifying. Hollowed-out pineapples serve as bowls for this delectable rice dish.
Seafood lovers can help themselves to fresh tiger prawns, flower crabs, mussels and scallops on ice. Dipping sauces like Thousand Island dressing and herb mayonnaise are provided.
Salmon Gravlax is a Scandinavian delicacy in which raw salmon is cured with salt and dill for several days. As the fish is high in brine, it is often eaten with bread. Gravlax is also served with dill and mustard sauce, onions and capers.
Christmas confections play an important role in yuletide celebrations. Right off the bat, diners can sink their teeth in Festive Fruitcake, Gingerbread, Madeleines and Chocolate Cookies. Please refrain yourself from eating the Gingerbread House as it is meant for decoration.
Christmas Pudding is very popular in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It is sometimes called “plum pudding” despite the fact that no actual plums are used. Instead, Christmas Pudding contains raisins. Although the traditional recipe involves brandy, alcohol is absent in today’s menu in order to appeal to the public.
Yule Log is essentially sponge cake that is arranged to resemble an actual yule log. The dessert is covered with chocolate ganache, which is raked with a fork to mimic the rough texture of bark. There is another version of Yule Log that is covered with vanilla cream.
Christmas Stollen is a traditional German bread that contains candied fruits and nuts. Like many Christmas confections, the cake-like bread is covered with icing sugar to give the appearance of snow.
