Special thanks to Iconic Hotel for extending this food review invitation.
Iconic Hotel is having its Christmas tree lighting ceremony this evening. To celebrate the joyous occasion, the hotel is hosting two dozen kids from
Mezza9 is serving Christmas-themed buffets during this festive season. There will be 3 sessions in total: on Christmas Eve (dinner), Christmas Day (brunch) and New Year’s Eve (dinner).
Starting at the carving station, the Roasted Christmas Turkey is perhaps the most important aspect of a yuletide meal. The turkey is served with roasted potatoes, chestnut stuffing and cranberry sauce. As for red meat, Roasted Lamb Leg is prepared this evening.
The à la minute grilling station allows customers to pick their favorite meats and seafood items. While waiting for food to be cooked, they can help themselves to Seafood Tempura too.
On the other hand, diners who enjoy chilled seafood can savor prawns, yabbies, spanner crabs, mussels and scallops on ice. Sashimi lovers can also indulge in chilled slices of salmon, tuna, butterfish and octopus.
Seafood Thermidor uses marine delicacies like prawns and mussels, which are baked with browned cheese crust. And if you like cheese-baked shellfish, Mezza9 serves Gratinated Scallops and Oysters Florentine too.
Do not overlook the poultry section; the roasted chicken and roasted duck are amazingly tender. Homemade duck sauce and chili sauce are provided.
The dim sum station has a number of steamed items like baozi, siew mai and lotus leaf rice. There are also deep-fried snacks such as wantan and money bags.
Christmas confections certainly steal the spotlight this evening. The Gingerbread House is meant for display, but bite-size cookies are also available if you wish to sample some gingerbread.
One of the most iconic yuletide desserts is Yule Log Cake. The cake is covered with chocolate ganache so that it resembles an actual yule log. I also recommend the Christmas Fruitcake for its rich flavor.
Pastry lovers may go for other sweet treats such as petits fours, chocolate brownies, macarons, meringue tarts, pavlova, éclairs, profiteroles, panna cotta, crème brûlée and more.
Last but not least, there are 2 types of chocolate fondue: white chocolate and dark chocolate. Diners can also enjoy free flow of Merry Me ice cream.
On the evening of Christmas Eve, Crumbles & Cream is having a concurrent buffet dinner which places more emphasis on barbecue. Be sure to visit the front porch at 8:00pm sharp as Iconic Hotel is having “snowfall” every evening until 31 December 2019.
