Update: This business has ceased its operations.
Click Town is an eatery at The CEO near Bukit Jambul. This café sells mostly Malay-styled local delicacies such as satay and laksa.
Located in front of (and part of) the shop is a stall called Spoof Burger. As the name implies, the name of each burger is a parody of popular culture, especially after a certain movie character.
For example, there is “Incredible Bun” which uses green-colored buns. This is an obvious spoof of a popular Marvel comic character whom you should not anger.
Each type of burger is available in 3 different portions: single patty, double patties and triple patties. The patties are available in chicken or beef. I am not sure whether hetero-patties are allowed, but you can always ask.
My dinner choice tonight is Lord Of The Cheese (RM5.50), which is obviously a play on the fantasy movie inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien’s novel. I opted for single patty as this is my first visit and I am not sure whether I will like it. The meat of choice is beef.
Befitting its name, this burger oozes with cheese cream. In my opinion, the beef is not ground well enough, therefore there are still bits of tendon and cartilage which tend to be wedged between teeth. In terms of flavor, the beef patty is reasonably well-seasoned, so I am quite forgiving about the fact that I need to floss my teeth afterwards.
Just for today, each order includes a complimentary piece of streaky beef. The taste of streaky beef resembles beef jerky, but it is much juicier. Not a bad choice for burgers.
Spoof Burger also introduces new burgers from time to time. An interesting choice is “Ubi-Wan Kenobi” which has an extra patty made from potatoes (ubi kentang).
The food preparation at Spoof Burger is very slow. There is only one guy running the stall and he certainly takes his sweet time to grill one patty at a time. At least, he is a friendly fellow whom you can easily strike a conversation.
