Yan Yam Cafe (炎茶餐室) is a small eatery at Siam Road (Jalan Siam). The shop is right opposite of How Bak Kut Teh (豪肉骨茶). There are not many parking lots nearby, so some customers opt for curbside pickup instead.
The specialty at Yan Yam Cafe is Fried Laksa (炒叻沙, RM6.00). This dish uses the same type of noodle as conventional laksa. It is stir-fried over intense fire in a similar manner as char koay teow (炒粿条).
The Fried Laksa contains shrimps, egg, onion, pineapple, cucumber and cabbage. The sauce used has tangy appeal with some degree of spiciness. There is a small resemblance to asam laksa.
