Special thanks to De Mahsuri Garden for extending this food review invitation.
Update: This business has ceased its operations.
De Mahsuri Garden is a Malay restaurant in Bayan Baru. Operating for 2 weeks, this open-air eatery used to be the location of Original Mami Nasi Kandar. One of the proprietors here used to operate Spoof Burger at The CEO.
Spoof Burger’s menu is still available. Several new burgers have been added since my last visit. A recent addition is Burger Leleh 2.0 (RM15.90), which is an enhancement of the original Burger Leleh. The most striking aspect of this burger is a fork that appears to be suspended in the air. The fork is connected to the burger by a tower of solidified cheese. A mixture of mozzarella and cheddar cheese is used to achieve the required consistency. By the way, the Malay word “leleh” means “drooling”.
Meanwhile, the burger patty is either deboned chicken thigh or ground beef. The patty is flavored with sweet-tangy dressing based on barbecue sauce. On the side are coleslaw and a heap of shoestring fries drizzled with nacho cheese.
As for snacks, the serving of Nachos (RM7.90) comprises of fried corn tortilla chips topped with Bolognese sauce, ground chicken, black olives, celery and grated cheese. This snack is meant to be shared among 2 or 3 people.
De Mahsuri Garden also serves Western grills, pasta, finger food and local delights. The restaurant will be bringing in more stalls in the near future. Eventually, the place will also be open for breakfast and lunch.
