As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, The Westin Desaru Coast Resort unveils its “Celestial Treasures” mooncake collection — a celestial-inspired celebration of tradition and innovation. From 1 August to 6 October 2025, guests can indulge in an exquisite array of flavors, where each mooncake is a miniature universe fusing tradition and innovation.

The ‘Celestial Treasures’ collection reinvents mooncake tradition with globally inspired innovations while honoring classic flavors. Alongside perennial favorites like Pandan Lotus Paste and Mixed Nuts, the series introduces creative offerings such as Royale Osmanthus — each crafted with The Westin’s wellness philosophy of reduced sweetness and oil without compromising taste. Every mooncake is Halal-certified, ensuring inclusive indulgence.

Today, we’re showcasing four standout flavors from the “Celestial Treasures” mooncake collection. Let’s explore what makes them special!

Matcha Red Bean Omochi shines as a modern reinvention of traditional mooncakes, blending premium Japanese ingredients into a harmonious bite. The earthy, grassy notes of matcha balance the natural sweetness of red bean paste, while chewy omochi adds a playful textural contrast.

For a dramatic visual and taste experience, try the vivid Violet Harmony mooncake. It features unique flavors of taro and sweet potato, layered with mung bean and mochi within its core. Beyond the visually stunning interplay of four colors, the mochi’s soft elasticity adds a playful textural contrast that makes every bite dynamic.

Indulge in one of our favorite mooncakes — the Toffee Butterscotch Mooncake. This decadent treat combines rich, buttery butterscotch with crunchy toffee bits. At its heart lies a molten caramel core — a delightful surprise that oozes with just the right amount of sweetness, satisfying sweet cravings without overwhelming the palate.

Encasing this Pure Lotus Single Yolk mooncake is a smooth lotus seed paste, with the subtle crunch of melon seeds scattered throughout. You may choose and combine any 4 out of 8 available baked mooncake flavors. Each piece is priced at RM 32, while a box of four is RM 208 nett. Orders can be collected from August 1st to October 6th. Please allow 3 days’ notice for orders exceeding 50 boxes.

The “Celestial Treasures” mooncakes are encased in a beautifully crafted chest adorned with delicate plum blossom motifs, available in regal violet or radiant mandarin orange.
