Share with your friends now!

Since its opening in 1984, Hilton Petaling Jaya has not only been the longest-standing Hilton hotel in Malaysia but also a place where many were introduced to international brand hospitality.

In 2024, the Ramadan buffet theme at Hilton Petaling Jaya is ‘Merentasi Tradisi,’ a blend of diverse culinary elements from various cultures and regions. Paya Serai at Hilton Petaling Jaya is set to transcend classic dishes, offering a modern interpretation that promises a delightful journey beyond tradition for its guests.

Empat Sekawan

Empat Sekawan, traditionally referring to the four basic spices in Malay cuisine—Kayu Manis (Cinnamon), Bunga Cengkih (Clove), Buah Pelaga (Cardamom), and Bunga Lawang (Star Anise) — are given an innovative twist at Paya Serai today with four unique dishes!

Penang Style Tumis Darat Gulai Ikan Talang Masin

This dish must be cooked with Ikan Talang Masin to achieve the perfect flavor! Pineapple is added in also to enhance the flavors!

Gulai Kawah Daging Tetel Dengan Umbut Pisang

Drawing inspiration from Malay village kitchens, this dish uses selected beef cuts – a blend of leanness and fat for the perfect texture. Alongside the tender core of banana stems, the dish embodies the authentic flavors of past generations.

Well, nowadays people rarely eat banana stems!

Shelled Out Masak Lemak Cili Api

Featuring a luxurious medley of flower crab, clams, and shrimp cooked in a spicy and coconut milk-infused broth, this seafood dish is all about extravagance!

Kalio Ayam

This dish originates from Minangkabau in Indonesia. It is a fragrant chicken dish cooked with chili peppers, turmeric, and coconut milk.

Sup Pak Meon – Sup Gear Box Kaki Kambing

We recommend that you come here to try this Gear Box Soup!

With its rich broth featuring various cuts of meat, you can choose to pair it with rice vermicelli or Bangali bread.

Nasi Dhalca

Another highly recommended dish is the Nasi Dhalca which originates from Penang. It features fragrant rice accompanied by various side dishes and a flavorful lentil-based sauce known as kuah dalca. For the complete experience, pair your Nasi Dalca with Sambal Nyiuq, Acar Jelatah, Acar Buah, and Papadam!

Ayam Masak Hitam Berbawang Mamak Style

Dalca Tulang Lembu / Tulang Rawan

Kari Telur Bersalut Daging and Ayam Rose

Asam Pedas

Originating from Malacca, the Asam Pedas dish is typically enjoyed with white rice, Ulam-ulaman, Sambal Belacan, Sambal Cencaluk, Salted Fish, and Telur Masin, complementing the various cooking styles of Asam Pedas dishes.

Asam Pedas Telur Ikan Mayong

You must try the traditional yet rarely seen Asam Pedas Telur Ikan Mayong! The large and springy fish eggs burst with flavor in your mouth, offering a unique and savory experience!

Asam Pedas Daging Tetel & Asam Pedas Ikan Pari

Asam Pedas Ayam Kampung

Bubur Lambuk

Bubur Lambuk is definitely a must-have for Ramadan Buffet. The chef has specially crafted two varieties: Bubur Lambuk Daging Penang Style and Bubur Lambuk Ikan Pantai Timur Terengganu.

Fresh From The BBQ Oven

In addition to the classic whole lamb roast, Paya Serai has also prepared a variety of other barbecue delights, spanning both Eastern and Western flavors!

Roasted Whole Lamb Kabsah

Beef Wellington

BBQ Honey Roasted Whole Chicken

Braised BBQ Beef Short Rib

Charcoal Grill Chicken And Beef Satay With Condiment

Beef Bratwurst Sausage

Whole Salmon With Mayonnaise Berlado

Bakar-Bakar

If you like to eat local-style barbecue, you can request to have your food cooked on the spot!

Ulam-ulaman• Kerabu • Salad

Since it is a Ramadan Buffet, we recommend that you try the various Ulam-ulaman and Kerabu.

Salads and assorted dressings such as Thousand Islands, French Dressing, Caesar Dressing, Vinaigrette, Lemon Mayonnaise and Cocktail Sauce.

Assorted Breads

Roti Canai, Roti Boom, Murtabak and more are prepared on the spot. We highly recommend you to try them out! The dough is thoroughly stretched and then fried to perfection. We love the crispy texture and rich taste of dough!

And you should try the chef’s homemade curry. It is rich and flavorful, yet not too spicy, making it perfect for pairing with roti.

Roti Banggali Bersalut Telur

Roti John

Pizzas

Beef Peperoni Pizza

Roasted Chicken With Pesto Pizza

Tuna And Creamy Sauce Pizza

Hummus with pita bread

Chinese Buns and Dim Sum

The siew mai here is quite good! There are Steamed Crab Stick Siew Mai and Steamed Chicken and Carrot Siew Mai; the buns are Red Bean Pau, Kaya Pau, Coconut Pau and BBQ Roasted Chicken Pau.

Steaming hot pao!

Japanese and Korean cuisine

You are not expecting to see international cuisines here, are you? 🙂

Baked Saba Fish Jeju Style

Fried Chicken Korean Style

Chicken Teriyaki

Stir Fried Beef Korean Style with Celery and Sesame

Kimchi Soup with Tofu

All of these dishes are best enjoyed with Steamed Korean Rice.

Claypot Chicken Rice

Claypot rice is a popular dish in Malaysia, and the most representative one should be claypot chicken rice!

Street Food

Apam Balik

You can ask the chef to customize the fillings such as peanuts, corn, chocolate rice and bananas.

Goreng-goreng

There are fried bananas and fried jackfruit ~ We love fried jackfruit the most – it’s very crispy on the outside, and especially hot and soft on the inside!

Turkish Fries

Turkish Fries (Kizarmis Patates) are a popular street food in Turkey. The thick cuts of potatoes are deep-fried until golden brown, such that they are crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. They are then served with a variety of dipping sauces for added flavor.

That’s right, this street snack is similar to the Friend Fries that became viral in Bukit Bintang.
