Pink with Purpose Afternoon Tea @ Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

FoodPink October

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Torito at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur brings guests a meaningful culinary experience with its Pink with Purpose Afternoon Tea.

Located high on Level 53, this vibrant venue blends Nikkei flavors and delicate pink desserts with a breathtaking backdrop featuring KLCC, KL Tower, and Merdeka 118.

Priced at MYR 110 nett per person, this exclusive set is available daily throughout October from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A portion of the proceeds from every set sold will go directly to the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to support vital breast cancer awareness initiatives.

Starting with the savouries, Torito highlights its signature Nikkei flair through a harmonious mix of Peruvian seasonings and precise Japanese culinary techniques.

Enclosed within a flaky, buttery pastry shell, the Seafood Empanadas hold a delicately minced mixture of fresh prawns and octopus.

Vibrant and fresh, the seafood carries an intensely savory umami profile that sets a strong tone for the savory tier.

These crisp pastries come accompanied by a vibrant dipping sauce crafted from two of Peruvian cuisine’s most iconic chilis. Aji Amarillo, the “golden jewel of Peru” (Capsicum baccatum), brings a sunny, fruity warmth, while Aji Panca, a classic red pepper, adds a milder heat with smoky, berry-like undertones.

Bright and bite-sized, the Chicken Avocado Cones combine creamy guacamole, tender chicken, Japanese mayo, and a touch of mustard inside a crisp, crunchy cone.

Bringing coastal flair to the table, the Japanese Crab Causa elevates traditional Peruvian potato salad with tender morsels of sweet crabmeat. Layered within a creamy, mildly spicy Huancaína sauce, the blend provides a rich depth that accentuates the fresh ocean flavors.

Bringing a refreshing crunch to the savory lineup, the Mini Prawn Tacos combine sweet, tender prawns and thinly sliced green apple, bound together by a velvety kimchi-mayo emulsion.

Transitioning to the sweet course, the spread offers an array of delicate, pink-inspired pastries designed to delight both the eyes and the palate.

Timeless and refined, the Victoria Sponge layers delicate cake with velvety rose Chantilly cream and sweet cherry confit.

Sitting alongside is a light, pillowy Strawberry Chiffon Cake, crafted for an airy, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Crafted with subtle sophistication, the Vanilla Cheese Mousse hides a velvety, rich core under a striking hibiscus veil.

The Raspberry Delice celebrates classic berry profiles, marrying punchy raspberry with luxurious white chocolate ganache to deliver a beautifully rounded, indulgent treat.

Soft and spongey, the Sakura Madeleines carry subtle cherry blossom notes for a gentle floral aroma. Perfectly balanced throughout, the entire dessert selection favors nuanced, natural flavors over heavy sweetness.

To round out the confectionery, warm Rose & Cranberry Scones arrive alongside strawberry jam, tangy raspberry curd, and rich clotted cream, bringing a comforting traditional touch to the afternoon.

All of these delicacies can be paired with your choice of freshly brewed coffee or tea.
