Chang Loong Asia Seafood Restaurant (长龙亚洲风味海鲜馆) is a Chinese restaurant in Sunway Tunas. Due to the fact that it is facing away from the main roads, the restaurant is easily overlooked except for the most determined foodies.
Several of us dropped in for a late lunch today. As the server recommended, we ordered three dishes for lunch. This should be sufficient for three persons.
Before the proper meal is ready, we are each served with a complimentary bowl of Pork Ribs Soup (猪肉汤) and a small platter of Cabbage Salad (包菜沙拉).
The Sweet And Sour Pork (咕噜肉, RM9.00) is quite nicely done. The bite-sized pork is reasonably tender, but it is the sweet and sour sauce that counts. The latter is made using tomato sauce, soy sauce and vinegar, giving it a tangy sweetness. The pork is stir-fried with the sauce, alongside other ingredients such as onions, peppers and pineapple pieces.
Next on our spotlight is the Chang Loong Homemade Beancurd (长龙招牌豆腐, RM7.00). The bean curd itself is quite tasteless, but the minced meat and soy sauce makes up for the flavor. Several peeled shrimps is also thrown in the mix. Not a bad deal considering the affordable price.
The final dish is the Chinese Broccoli With Scallop (带子炒芥兰, RM12.00). Chinese broccoli, or kai-lan, is sought for its thick stems besides the glossy leaves. The dish is not stir-fried for too long, so the vegetable still retains its juicy and crunchy texture. The kai-lan is accompanied by several pieces of scallops. I love scallops, and I love them more when they are well-cooked. Other ingredients in this dish are button mushrooms (洋菇), sliced carrots and sliced corn.
For drinks, we ordered a glass of Pak Poh Herbal Tea (八宝凉茶, RM1.50) and a glass of Chrysanthemum Tea (菊花茶, RM1.50). In case you are wondering, not everyone wants to order drinks in every meal.
