This article is part of our Ramadan 2026 series.
This Ramadan, KLGCC Convention Centre (formerly known as Sime Darby Convention Centre) serves D’Anjung Ramadan Buffet at its ballroom.

Running from 23 February 2026 to 17 March 2026, the iftar feast features a variety of bazaar-style food stalls and authentic Malaysian dishes.

Let’s begin by exploring the appetizer station. This is where Kerabu, Ikan Masin and Telur Masin are served.

Ulam-Ulaman are fresh greens paired with spicy dips like Sambal Belacan, Tempoyak, Cencaluk and Budu.

Kurma (sweet date) is traditionally eaten when breaking the fast.

In addition, there are several types of Jeruk (fruit pickles) and Keropok (crackers) to prime one’s palate.

The salad section has a couple of composed salads as well as a DIY salad bar.

As for main dishes, there are six menus on daily rotation: Masakan Panas Utara (Penang), Masakan Panas Lembah Klang (Klang Valley), Masakan Panas Waris (Negeri Sembilan), Masakan Panas Bersejarah (Melaka), Masakan Panas Selatan (Johor) and Masakan Panas Pantai Timur (East Coast). Each menu highlights the signature dishes of each region. Masakan Panas Pantai Timur is served this evening.

To get started, you can choose between white rice and coconut-infused Nasi Dagang.
Nasi Dagang is a signature East Coast staple that provides a fragrant, textured foundation for the rich and heavy curries.

The Gulai Kawah section offers rich and aromatic gravies that are best enjoyed with rice.

Bubur Lambuk is a staple during Ramadan. The congee has coriander and fried onions as toppings.

Also popular is Sup Kawah Warisan. The hearty soup is often enjoyed with thick slices of bread.

Sup Kawah Warisan comes with optional ingredients such as beef, lamb, chicken and stomach.

As for noodles, there are Asam Laksa, Mee Rebus and Kari Laksa alongside their respective condiments.

Pasembor Utara is a salad mix of cucur kelapa, cucur sayur, tauhu, timun and sengkuang. This popular snack is often eaten with peanut sauce.

Another crowd favorite is Lempeng. There are two varieties: Lempeng Kelapa and Lempeng Pisang. Both are good and worth trying especially if you appreciate nostalgic flavors.

Apam Balik is quite popular too. Diners can choose fillings like crushed peanuts, sweet corn and chocolate sauce.

Do you fancy Lok-Lok Celop? There are a dozen types of bite-sized ingredients on skewers, which diners can cook by dipping in chicken soup or tom yum. Sweet, spicy and savory condiments are provided too.

Another major highlight is the collection of live action stalls at the open-air section. This is where diners can enjoy unique street food experience.

Kambing Panggang Serantau serves as the main highlight. The lamb is served with grilled vegetables and a handful of dipping sauces.

Lidah Bakar is a specialty here at KLGCC. Tender chunks of beef tongue are grilled with bell peppers and black pepper sauce. This delicacy can be enjoyed with air asam (tamarind sauce) or kicap pedas (spicy soy sauce) for an extra kick.

Ayam Penyet 7 Rempah consists of Ayam Goreng Berempah (spiced fried chicken) served with Sambal Penyet Berlada.

The aroma of turmeric-infused meats leads us to the Satay Cucuk stall. Chicken and beef versions are available. Standard accompaniments are kuah kacang (peanut sauce), nasi impit (pressed rice), onion and cucumber.

Another stall presents deep-fried fritters such as cucur sayur, keropok lekor, cokodok pisang and keledek. They come with dipping sauce like cili kicap and Thai chili sauce.
