Apple Blossom Bakery is a home-based bakery in Penang, specializing in rustic cakes, cheesecakes, cupcakes, cookies and desserts table. One of the signature creations at Apple Blossom Bakery is the Treat Cake, which is available in two sizes: 600 grams (RM79.00) and 1.2 kilograms (RM130.00). The Treat Cake is highly customizable according to customers’ needs, and takes creative license in its elaborate icing.
The cake itself contains chunks of walnuts for the delightful mouthfeel. Bananas are used to provide mild yet pleasant flavor in each bite.
In terms of aesthetic appeal, the Treat Cake is loaded with several kinds of sweet treats such as Ferrero Rocher chocolate ball, Chupa Chups lollipop, Oreo cookie, Kit Kat bar, macaron, popcorn, Snyder’s of Hanover mini pretzels, Maltesers chocolate balls and many more candies. Basically, it has all the goodies that a child can ever dream of. Remember the story of Hansel and Gretel? This Treat Cake represents the realistically-sized version, minus the evil witch!
As if the assortment of irresistible treats aren’t attractive enough, the Treat Cake is also decorated with several roses to seal the deal. These are actual roses which will eventually wither after some time. Therefore if you are throwing a birthday party, request for the cake to be delivered on the actual day itself.
While the Treat Cake definitely captivates my sweet tooth, I am also impressed with the Fudgy Brownies (RM35.00). The brownies come in a little more than 600 grams. But once you take the first bite, you will wish that you ordered more.
I am most impressed with the thick chocolate fudge inside the Fudgy Brownies. Not only it is saturated with chocolaty goodness, the creamy consistency makes the brownies addictive bite after bite! On the surface, cocoa powder is sprinkled on top to prevent the brownies from losing moisture. Just be careful not to choke on the fine powder!
