Rangoon 77 (娘家传统手工面), also known as Granny’s Country Kitchen, is a small eatery at Jalan Rangoon. The restaurant specializes in handmade noodles.
Minced Pork Noodle (肉碎手工面, RM7.50) is served with pork meatballs, tofu skin (腐皮) and yau mak (油麦). The dish be served dry or with soup. The former comes with a separate bowl of soup. I feel that the noodle is not quite as springy as expected.
The next dish is Hakka Pork Leg Rice (客家猪脚饭, RM10.90). The meal includes julienned potatoes, fried egg and soup. The pork is quite bland in the middle because it is not marinated long enough. Meanwhile, the gravy is acceptable but can use more spices.
The food at Rangoon 77 is mediocre at best; there is certainly much room for improvement. In addition, our orders were messed up even though there were only a few customers.
