If you plan to visit Bagan Hailam, Hainan Village, make sure to stop by Tanjung Harapan, the lover’s bridge of Bagan North Port!

From here, you can gaze into the distant cape of North Port and the colossal offshore cranes. Although it may not be as breathtaking as West Port, it is still one of the most magnificent attractions in Selangor’s Klang district

Previously, Tanjung Harapan was a hot spot for Pokémon Go enthusiasts!

Tanjung Harapan, just a 5-minute drive from Bagan Hailam, is technically not a “bridge” but rather a seaside promenade spanning approximately 2.5km to 3km. Along the way, you’ll also come across numerous Chinese and Malay-style seafood restaurants

During the evening, many locals visit to take a leisurely stroll, go fishing, admire the sea view, or watch the sunset. However, swimming in the water is not permitted for visitors

Taking a romantic walk here with your loved one is also quite delightful

There are ample parking lots available along the main road beside this seaside promenade

PKGR, the Port Klang Golf Resort, is another seaside attraction currently awaiting rejuvenation

Along the coastal area, there are several observation decks built on parts of the marshy land using stones

Every Lantern Festival or usually known as Chap Goh Mei, Klangnites will organize a “throwing oranges” activity to pair up single men and women. In the era before Facebook and the internet, this annual event was considered a grand occasion. Perhaps this is where the name “lover’s bridge” originates from

A replica ancient warship (Kapal Bugis) was announced for construction by the Klang Municipal Council in 2002 and was completed in 2006. According to the plan, the lower deck of the ship was designed to accommodate around 40 people in a restaurant setting, while the bow deck served as a performance stage. Unfortunately, the replica warship suffered damage due to a lack of proper preservation after its completion and experienced a severe fire in 2013, which caused significant destruction to the stern. It remains unrepaired until today

Fortunately, the Klang Municipal Council will transfer the replica warship to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) for transformation into a maritime museum. Visitors will have another meaningful attraction to explore during their trip to Klang!
