Share with your friends now!

Today, we visited Pasar Baru, the all-day dining restaurant at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya. Compared to other Le Méridien properties, Pasar Baru is unique to this hotel. This year, Pasar Baru is hosting a Christmas buffet that not only embraces the festive theme but also incorporates local flavors.

During our dining experience, we have the pleasure of meeting two key figures behind the scenes – Chef Shahrul and Chef Sebastian.

Le Méridien Petaling Jaya maintains a high standard overall, presenting authentic and delectable dishes. It’s a restaurant worth revisiting.

Indian Kitchen

The Indian cuisine at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya is said to be masterfully crafted by Chef Arul, who hails from India. The use of spices is remarkable, creating diverse and rich flavors.

After trying the Indian dishes ourselves, we unanimously agree that the Indian cuisine here stands out. The liberal use of spices presents an authentic and cater to the local palate.

The highlight here is the double-boiled soup with cordyceps flower, red dates, and chicken, providing a sweet and heartwarming start to the meal.

Do you know that Le Méridien Petaling Jaya serves excellent Chinese-style chicken rice?

We guess the Hainanese chicken here is not boiled but prepared with a ‘salt-steamed’ method. This results in a savory and drier texture that boasts a unique flavor profile.

The best part is that the chicken rice here is cooked with chicken oil, and the rice is perfectly cooked without being overly fluffy, offering a delightful aroma. In addition, ginger mixed with chicken oil delivers an authentic taste of Malaysian street-style chicken rice. Truly genuine, considering that many street vendors nowadays may not be willing to use chicken oil for cooking rice!

The chicken char siu puff pastry is definitely worth a try! It stands on par with renowned ones elsewhere.
