Makan Kitchen occupies a huge dining hall embedded with many rustic elements. Lined with woven chairs and wooden tables of various sizes, the all-day dining restaurant caters to dining parties of all sizes.
Glass panels on all sides allow diners to enjoy unimpeded views of the resort grounds, all within the comfort of air-conditioning.
Al fresco dining at Makan Kitchen is also a great choice, given the idyllic views of the Malacca Strait and the neighboring Pangkor Island. On a clear day, turquoise waters and cotton-candy clouds create a stunning backdrop and transforms your meal into a delightful experience.
Signature Drinks
To quench our thirst, we ordered two of Makan Kitchen’s signature drinks. The Iced Milo Dinosaur is a popular Malaysian creation with with tongue-in-cheek connotations. It comprises of a cup of iced Milo (a popular brand of chocolate malt beverage) with a heap of undissolved Milo powder on top. Meanwhile, the Lychee Lemonade is a fizzy refreshment made of sparkling water, lemon juice, lychee and lemon wedge on the rim. Both beverages are the perfect answer to the warm tropical sun.
Peri-Peri Spring Chicken 🌶️🧑🍳
Our choice of appetizer is the signature Peri-Peri Spring Chicken. This poultry dish features succulent chargrilled chicken infused with zesty peri-peri spices. The fiery flavor is perfect for those who enjoy the delightful kick of chili heat.
The Peri-Peri Spring Chicken is beautifully complemented by serving a fresh salsa made of tomatoes, onions and capsicum. This soothing condiment offers a burst of garden freshness, cutting through the intense heat of peri-peri.
Chicken Sub 🧑🍳
The Chicken Sub is served using freshly baked ciabatta. The bread’s texture is light and chewy at the same time.
Sandwiched in between ciabatta slices is a crispy chicken cutlet, breaded and fried to perfection. Within the golden crust is tender chicken, bursting with mouth-watering flavors with each bite.
Also included within the Chicken Sub are gherkins, tomatoes and lettuce. Creamy mustard mayo ties all ingredients together. In addition, fries and coleslaw are served on the side.
Kampar Beef Noodles 🧑🍳
Immerse yourself in local heritage through the Kampar Beef Noodles, a dish steeped in tradition from the town of Kampar, Perak. This hearty dish features flat rice noodles bathed in flavorful beef broth. Simmered for hours, the savory broth is tasty to the last drop!
The dish is loaded with succulent beef balls, Chinese dumplings, shiitake mushrooms, choy sum and bean sprouts. A squeeze of lime gives the broth a hint of tartness.
If you seek an extra kick of spiciness, the accompanying chili oil should do the trick.
Blueberry Cheesecake
The Blueberry Cheesecake is packed with the ultimate goodness of cheese. Rich and creamy, this delectable dessert is topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries and overflowing strawberry sauce.
Even if lunch isn’t on the agenda, indulging in a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake for afternoon tea is pure bliss indeed. A cup of coffee would certainly go well with it.
