This year, “Souq” is the Ramadan buffet theme at Mövenpick Hotel and Convention Centre KLIA. The word “souq” (سوق) is Arabic for an open-air marketplace. In this spirit, the menu covers many live cooking stations in the atmosphere of a bustling Ramadan bazaar.

Taking advantage of the spacious convention center, the buffet is served at the ballroom and foyer area.

As for entertainment, a 5-piece band keeps the atmosphere lively.

Istimewa @ Souq

At the “kawah” section, each dish evokes the feeling of nostalgia of care-free childhood days in the village.

Kari Kepala Ikan Salmon Temasya

Kari Kepala Ikan Salmon Temasya is the signature dish at Mövenpick’s all-day dining restaurant, Temasya. The dish takes advantage of salmon’s natural fattiness to enhance the curry. The succulent fish head will definitely tantalize your taste buds!

Apolo Salai Payakumbuh (Ayam/Daging Batang Pinang/Ikan Keli)

We cannot highlight the Apolo Salai Payakumbuh highly enough. This delicacy is a culinary masterpiece!

There are 2 main choices: smoked duck and smoked catfish. Both are carefully prepared in an oversized meat smoker called “Apollo stove”.

Equally important is the rich and spicy broth that is based on coconut milk.

Upon ordering, the ingredients are reheated in a traditional clay pot.

The smoky essence of the meats perfectly complements the fiery sauce. The symphony of flavors is enhanced by the clay pot’s gentle heat.
