But unlike the traditional English afternoon tea, the Hi-Tea Sojourn incorporates local favorites too.
Starting from the bottom of the three-tiered stand, we have Apam Gula Hangus, Tuna Puffs and Cucur Udang.
Apam Gula Hangus is a traditional sponge cake known for its caramelized sweetness. As for Tuna Puffs, we love the flaky puff pastry with buttery aroma.
Cucur udang, or prawn fritters, are usually enjoyed with sweet and spicy dipping sauce.
The middle tier contains Macarons, Fruit Tartlets, Butter Pound Cake and Tiramisu. The Tiramisu is particularly nice. The coffee-infused pastry is moist and delights our sweet tooth.
On the top tier, there are two savory delights: Tuna Croissants and Mini Burgers. The Tuna Croissants are lovely indeed. The rich tuna filling blends well with the puff pastry.
Meanwhile, the Mini Burgers contain chicken nuggets, tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. The buns and fillings are held together with decorative toothpicks.
In addition to the three-tiered stand, the Hi-Tea Sojourn includes local snacks on the side. First up is Chicken Satay. The skewered meat is grilled to perfection. Peanut gravy serves as the dipping sauce.
The Curry Noodles are definitely worth trying! Infused with coconut milk, the broth is creamy and flavorful. The Curry Noodles come with lemon wedges and special chili paste.
The Hi-Tea Sojourn includes two drinks of customers’ choice. We opted for the classic English Breakfast Tea and Earl Grey Tea.
