James Foo Western Food has several outlets throughout Penang. The latest one to open is at Elit Avenue.
The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere for family dining. Besides the air-conditioned section, there are additional dining tables outside.
First, the bowl of Mushroom Soup (RM3.50) feels watered-down and has very mild (if any) mushroom flavor. I think the soup should be made thicker and creamier.
Grilled Chicken ‘N’ Pork Combo (RM12.00) is served with fries, soft bun and vegetables. While the chicken chop is reasonably tender, the pork cutlet is way too tough. In addition, the amount of sauce is pitifully small.
Carrot Juice With Milk (RM9.50) is available in jumbo size. The drink is meant to be shared between 2 people. I think there is too much ice that makes the drink too diluted.
James Foo Western Food is a decent place to have Western dishes at reasonable prices. However, the selection of dishes here is somewhat lacking. Based on today’s meal, I feel that there is room for improvement in terms of taste.
