Take some time to explore the market. On the third floor, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast. Apart from popular local dishes like fried flat noodles and wonton noodles, don’t miss the unique dish – mushroom curry chee cheong fun. Don’t forget to order a cup of coffee or tea, expertly brewed by local baristas. The entire food court is operated by locals, adding to the authenticity of the experience, and many of these stalls have been passed down through generations.

2nd Stop: 9am – Koridor Sejarah Kampung Baru Seri Setia

After your meal at the market, it’s just a short walk to the Koridor Sejarah Kampung Baru Seri Setia a.ka. mini museum about the history of Sungai Way. The museum opens its doors at 9am on weekends (requires advance booking on weekdays), so your timing is perfect.

This museum offers free admission, and you’ll have the privilege of local residents providing guided tours, sharing the rich history of the village.

The collection includes over 600 items, with the majority donated by the local residents themselves.

One of the highlights is the Sungai Way lion dance troupe – Khuan Loke Dragon and Lion Dance Association which is a source of immense pride for the village.

The museum also features captivating murals on its exterior, a must-see for art enthusiasts.

3rd Stop: 10am – Leng Eng Tian – Sungai Way Nine Emperor Gods Temple

Leng Eng Tian Temple holds a special place in the hearts of the Sungai Way New Village community. During the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, which falls in the ninth month of the lunar calendar, the temple comes alive with vibrant celebrations.

Inside the temple, you’ll find remarkable murals and stone carvings with high artistic value, showcasing the deep-rooted culture and traditions of the village.

4th Stop: 11am – Tho Guan Seng Temple @ Sungai Way

As one of the earliest temples in Sungai Way New Village, Tho Guan Seng Temple holds immense significance. The temple is dedicated to Guan Di, the God of War, and is believed to protect the village from calamities.
