This year, Dorsett Hartamas invites everyone to come and witness a culinary masterpiece: Sinaran Dorsett Ramadan Buffet. This symphony of flavors is the result of collaboration between Executive Chef Ahmad and guest chef Dato’ Chef Ismail Ahmad from Restoran Rebung Chef Ismail.
The festive menu features Chef Ismail’s signature dishes such as Ayam Golek Istana and Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api. These delicacies are supplemented with other sumptuous local favorites prepared by Chef Ahmad and his culinary team.
For diners who wish to meet Chef Ismail in person, he will be making special appearances on the evenings of March 16th, March 23rd, March 30th and April 6th. You would do well to book your seats quickly for obvious reasons!
Nasi Minyak Ayam Golek Istana
Ayam Golek Istana is a time-honored delicacy crafted by Chef Ismail. The poultry dish is exclusively prepared for the holy month of Ramadan.
The name “Istana” (palace) itself evokes a sense of grandeur. Coincidentally, Dorsett Hartamas is situated less than a kilometer away from Istana Negara (National Palace), the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King of Malaysia).
Kambing Bakar
Kambing Bakar is roasted to golden perfection, resulting in tender lamb coated by a flavorful crust. This is the perfect choice for those who enjoy savoring red meat.
Bakar-bakar Station
Bakar-bakar stalls are a common sight at Ramadan bazaars. Various kinds of food are grilled and roasted over open fire, giving them a smoky char on the surface.
Today’s bakar-bakar station features Chicken Satay and Beef Satay. Sweet peanut sauce serves as the condiment.
Meanwhile, Ikan Bakar is wrapped and grilled in banana leaves. Besides keeping the fish moist, banana leaves also infuse the fish with a subtle aroma of freshness.
Murtabak
Murtabak was originally sold by Indian Muslim stalls. These pancakes are usually stuffed with minced meat and eggs.
Roti John
Roti John is another popular street food. The baguette is filled with minced meat, onions and eggs, and is usually overflowing with sauces.
Seafood On Ice
The Seafood On Ice here is remarkably fresh! We love the succulent taste of marine delicacies like mussels, oysters, prawns and crabs.
The prawns are incredibly fresh and springy. Each bite is bursting with umami juice that tantalizes the taste buds.
Hot Food Section
In celebration of Ramadan, Malay cuisine is predominantly featured here. One can savor the array of mouthwatering Malay dishes such as Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api, Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak and Lawar Terung.
To complement savory meats, there are also several vegetable dishes to make a balanced meal.
Ikan Patin Tempoyak
The town of Temerloh in Pahang is known as the capital of Ikan Patin Tempoyak due to its many fish farms and durian plantations. The catfish is prized for its soft texture, while tempoyak (fermented durian) enhances the fish’s flavor with its pungent flavor. This beloved dish is a true culinary delight!
Noodle & Porridge
Besides hot dishes that are meant to go with rice, there are also alternative dishes such as Curry Noodles, Pasta and Bubur Lambuk.
