The Starhill Dining is a collection of 3 eateries in The Starhill (formerly known as Starhill Gallery): Shook!, Luk Yu Tea House, The Alchemy and several tenant restaurants. Stepping into The Starhill Dining is like entering a mystical wonderland filled with light and energy.

The ongoing festive buffet at Shook! is themed “Selera Kampong Enak“. Served every evening throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the menu promises a medley of home-style Malay dishes that bring back childhood memories of the past.

Dining Environment

The dining section of Shook! departs from the neon-drenched vibe, offering a trendy yet relaxing space for gatherings. Soft lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere ideal for breaking fast during Ramadan.

Private dining rooms are also available at Shook!.

Grill Station

The heart of Shook!’s culinary magic is probably the sizzling grill station. At the center of the restaurant is an open kitchen where the action takes place in front of hungry diners.

Tandoori Kambing

These oven-grilled lamb cutlets are infused with rustic smokiness from the tandoor oven.

Ayam Percik

Ayam Percik are drizzled with tangy coconut sauce for the enticing flavor.

Enhance the taste of the chargrilled chicken with extra percik sauce!

Kambing Panggang

Don’t forget to try out the succulent slices of roasted lamb. Be patient while the chefs carve delicious mutton for your fussy palate!

These tender lamb cuts go well with BBQ and black pepper sauces.

Satay

Another crowd favorite is Satay. Chicken and beef versions are available. These succulent skewers of marinated meat are best enjoyed while they are sizzling hot from the grill!

Condiments for Satay are kuah kacang (peanut sauce), nasi impit (pressed rice), cucumbers and onions.

Nasi Lemak

Nasi Lemak comprises of a symphony of accompaniments including roasted peanuts, fried anchovies, cucumber slices as well as the ubiquitous sambal sauce! The fluffy rice is cooked with coconut milk, culminating in soothing aroma that induces appetite.

Several cooked dishes are specially prepared to complement Nasi Lemak. Examples are Ayam Goreng DJ, Udang Sambal Petai, Rendang Ayam and Sambal Sotong Kembang.

Nasi Biryani

Hailing from India, Nasi Briyani is widely enjoyed across Malaysia due to its unique aroma and soul-satisfying taste. Long-grain basmati rice is typically used. The rice dish is often served with flavorful meat and vegetable dishes.

Daging Masak Hitam

The beef slices are braised in black sauce made from fermented soybeans.

Ayam Masala

This poultry dish is cooked in creamy red sauce and is flavored with a blend of Indian spices called garam masala.

Kari Ikan

The fish curry is served with juicy okra (lady’s fingers).

Ikan Goreng Berempah

If you prefer fried fish, Ikan Goreng Berempah is your cup of tea. The fish is marinated with chili paste and aromatic spices, and then deep-fried to a golden crisp.

Sayur Masak Kurma

This dish consists of assorted vegetables cooked with kurma spice mix and coconut milk.

Tumis Sayur Kubis

Tumis Sayur Kubis features shredded cabbage stir-fried with turmeric to a yellowish hue.

Soup & Porridge Station

Bubur Lambuk

Bubur Lambuk is infused with vegetables and spices. During Ramadan, the flavorful congee is typically served in a communal setting.

Sup Kambing & Sup Ayam

Also available is Sup Kambing, a traditional lamb soup brimming with warming spices. If you do not take lamb, the chicken version is available too.

Tom Yum Goong

This Thai-style spicy soup contains succulent shrimps flavored with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, chilies, shallots and garlic.

Hot Dishes

Across the restaurant, an array of steaming hot dishes reflects the countryside nature of the buffet theme.

Ayam Masak Merah

Ayam Masak Merah is a classic Malay dish where chicken is braised in rich tomato sauce.

Ikan Pari Asam Pedas

Check out stingrays braised with sour and spicy sauce. This classic dish has a tangy kick that tantalizes your taste buds.

Rendang Udang

Rendang is typically served with beef, lamb or chicken. But have you tried the prawn version before? The Rendang Udang is are rare find!

Ikan Keli Goreng Berlada

Ikan Keli Goreng Berlada features catfish coated in a fiery chili paste.

Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Api

Do you enjoy eating crabs? Then you need to savor some Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Api. The crabs are cooked with creamy coconut milk and fiery spices!

Sotong Goreng Tepung

Deep-fried to a golden crisp, Sotong Goreng Tepung is a true Malaysian crowd-pleaser. We cannot recommend this dish highly enough.

Pajeri Nenas Berempah

Another popular dish is Pajeri Nenas Berempah, where tangy pineapple chunks are simmered in fragrant curry. The symphony of flavors is a gastronomical delight!

Pucuk Ubi Masak Lemak

Pucuk Ubi Masak Lemak consists of tender tapioca leaves cooked with coconut milk broth and an infusion of fragrant spices like turmeric and lemongrass.

Daging Salai Masak Lemak

Daging Salai Masak Lemak elevates smoked beef to an entirely new level. Served with coconut gravy, this dish is flavorful indeed.

Assorted Keropok

Don’t forget to sample the the crispy crackers! They provide a delightful contrast to the curry-based dishes.

Kerabu & Ulam-Ulaman

After many flavorful meat dishes, cleanse your palate with some Kerabu and Ulam-Ulaman.

Ikan Bakar Sambal Station

Let’s continue to fire up your taste buds at the next live cooking station! Here, you can choose from a variety of fresh fish grilled over an open flame. For example, the ever-popular ikan bawal (pomfret) is perfect for those who appreciate its delicate and flaky texture.

There are several dipping sauces to complement grilled fish. My personal favorite is the classic Air Asam (tamarind sauce).

Lemang, Ketupat & Roti Jala Station

Also available are Serunding Daging, Serunding Ayam and Kari Ayam (chicken curry).

Chicken Rice

Goreng-Goreng

Pisang Goreng (banana fritters), Ubi Manis Goreng (fried sweet potatoes) and Cucur Sayur (vegetable fritters) are prepared for your enjoyment.

Ubi Manis Goreng is our favorite this evening. The sweet potatoes are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Flatbread Station

Moving on to the next live action counter, the talented chefs here prepare delicious flatbreads from scratch right before your eyes.

Roti Canai and Murtabak are perhaps the best-known flatbreads in Malaysia.

The flatbreads are usually enjoyed with vegetable dhal.

Here is a personal tip: drizzle some sambal into the dhal for an extra kick!

If you prefer something different, there are also sweet condiments like kaya and honey to go with flatbreads.

Noodle Station

Craving for noodles? Head over to the noodle station for a steaming bowl of your liking!

Laksa Noodle Soup

We love to add a spoonful of shrimp paste to the Laksa Noodle Soup. The savory shrimp paste really enhances the taste of fish broth.

Mee Hoon Soup

This turmeric-infused broth is best paired with rice vermicelli.

Teh Tarik Ketagih
