Live Seafood Wok-Fried Delights
The highlight of the Weekend Seafood Galore Dinner Buffet at the DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside is definitely the live seafood cooking station. Here, you can witness Chef Ryan expertly wok-frying your choice of seafood right before your eyes.
Let’s check out what are the seafood available this evening.
How to Order
1. Choose Your Seafood: Select your preferred seafood.
2. Specify Cooking Style: Inform the chef whether you'd like your seafood cooked in kam heong or salted egg style.
3. Receive a Number Tag: You'll be given a number tag to track your order.
4. Continue Exploring: Explore other food counters while your seafood is being prepared.
5. Collect or Wait: Return to the cooking station later, or wait for the server to deliver your dish to your table.
Kam Heong is a popular Chinese-Malaysian style of cooking characterized by its rich, savory, and slightly spicy flavor. Thus, Kam Heong-style seafood typically has a complex and aromatic flavor, with a balance of sweetness, saltiness, and spiciness. If you enjoy a bolder flavor with a thicker sauce, kam heong is the perfect choice.
Whereas Salted Egg is a popular ingredient in many Asian cuisines, known for its savory and slightly salty taste with a rich, creamy texture. The savory and slightly salty taste of the salted egg complements the natural sweetness and texture of the seafood, creating a harmonious combination. We particularly enjoyed the salted egg style this evening. The dry, sandy texture of the salted egg coating complemented the fresh and juicy seafood perfectly!
The quality of a wok-fried seafood dish ultimately depends on the freshness of the seafood used. We were impressed by the freshness and plumpness of the seafood served here. These are essential factors in creating a truly delicious seafood experience. By the way, if you’re unsure about which cooking style or seasonings to choose, don’t hesitate to ask the chef for recommendations. The chef can help you create a customized dish that perfectly suits your taste preferences.
A Unique Seafood on Ice Counter
Unlike traditional seafood on ice displays, the counter here features marinated seafood that you won’t find anywhere else. This is a must-try for seafood lovers, as the marinade enhances the natural flavors of the seafood without overpowering them.
Taste the sweetness of pink scallops elevated by a delicious Nyonya-inspired marinade, and many other marinated seafood dishes with unique flavors.
While other seafood offerings are enhanced with delicious marinades, the Alaskan crab legs are best enjoyed in their natural state. Their sweet and delicate flavor is perfectly complemented by a simple seasoning of salt water.
A Global Seafood Journey
In addition to the live seafood cooking station and fresh seafood on ice, there are also a variety of seafood dishes inspired by different cuisines.
