Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara is a luxurious French-style hotel conveniently located adjacent to Damansara City Mall. This year, Kwee Zeen, the hotel’s all-day dining Pan-Asian and French restaurant, aims to provide a comprehensive dining experience catering to various tastes with both familiar and unique flavors.

Upon entering Kwee Zeen, guests will find a diverse selection of culinary offerings, ranging from traditional Malay favorites to popular dishes from across Asia. Live cooking stations add an interactive element, allowing diners to witness the preparation of fresh dishes.

The dining area itself is spacious and elegant, designed to provide a comfortable and refined atmosphere for Iftar gatherings. The eatery’s decor features Parisian art, adding a touch of sophistication and creating a visually appealing environment.

7 Flavours of Malaysia

“Destinasi Rasa Serantau” will be the theme for Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara’s 2025 Ramadan buffet. This festive menu highlights the rich culinary diversity of Malaysia by featuring seven special dishes, each representing a distinct flavor profile from different states.

As the theme “7 Flavours of Malaysia” implies, the “Destinasi Rasa Serantau Buffet” aims to take diners on a culinary journey across the country. This year, the buffet menu has been expertly curated by Chef de Cuisine Mizan of Kwee Zeen.

Udang Galah Mask Diraja Pahang

Udang Galah Masak Diraja Pahang is a dish featuring freshwater prawns cooked in a spicy turmeric coconut sauce. Traditionally served at weddings and special occasions, especially during Ramadan, this dish is a delightful treat.

Prepared à la minute by Chef Mizan of Pahang, guests can enjoy it with two types of sauces: asam pedas and masak lemak.

Kambing Golek Nusantara Selangor

Kambing Golek Nusantara Selangor features whole lamb marinated with Asian herbs and spices, giving the meat an authentic and flavorful taste. Typically served with basmati rice and yogurt, this dish is a staple at weddings and special occasions, especially during Ramadan. Prepared by Chef Hadi of Selangor, the dish comes with condiments such as percik sauce and tzatziki sauce, enhancing the dining experience.

Chef Irwan of Johor presents his rendition of Nasi Briyani Sunquick Berlauk Johor, a rice dish that features tender beef shank. Beef shank is renowned for its intense, deep beef flavor, releasing a rich, savory essence after cooking.

Malay prawn noodle is one of Malaysia’s all-time favorite dishes, featuring juicy tiger prawns, assorted noodles with condiments, and a thick, flavorful gravy. At this buffet, Chef Syafiq of Pulau Pinang presents his take on Mee Udang Harimau Penang.

Chef Syafiq’s version certainly lives up to expectations. The broth is immensely rich in taste and tasty to the last drop. Each bowl is served with large, succulent tiger prawns (udang harimau) and other seafood, including green-lipped mussels and black mussels, creating a truly luxurious noodle dish.

Chef Sofi of Perak introduces Kerabu Scallop & Oyster Goreng Perak, a distinctive variation on the classic kerabu. While scallops and oysters are not usually found in traditional kerabu, this creation is a noteworthy addition to the buffet. The pink bunga kantan (torch ginger) not only garnishes the plate but also contributes a fragrant and subtly tangy element.
