For the upcoming month of Ramadan, 5 Wells Restaurant invites diners to rediscover cherished culinary traditions from the past. The eatery is located inside Courtyard by Marriott Setia Alam, just a stone’s throw from Setia City Mall.

5 Wells Restaurant affords a spacious dining environment with sweeping views of the surrounding area. For customers who prefer some privacy, there are also several private dining rooms on the side.

Chef Shahid Khan has been recently appointed as the Executive Chef of the hotel. Working closely with Sous Chef Firdaus, Chef Shahid and the culinary team have created an extensive buffet menu that provides an exceptional berbuka puasa experience. As the theme “Citarasa Iftar: Sajian Nostalgia Abadi” implies, the buffet is crafted to evoke nostalgia of traditional dishes that withstood the test of time.

Rasa Panggang
Kambing Bakar Bumbu is marinated à la Indonesian style. Slow-roasting and clever use of spices make the lamb appetizing indeed.

Beef Brisket Rendang is another highlight this evening. Infused with aromatic spices, the beef is saturated with rendang-style savoriness. Meanwhile, the brisket is pleasantly soft and can be easily pulled apart. Make sure that you have at least a serving of this delicacy!

As for “Bakar-Bakar” delights, there are Ikan Bakar (grilled fish), Satar and Otak-Otak. Accompanying condiments are presented in stone mortars.

Festive Specials
Our favorite dish this evening is Ayam Rendang Hijau. Chicken is slow-cooked until it becomes incredibly tender. The green gravy is extremely appetizing, delivering mouthfuls of savory flavors with a hint of sweetness. This dish is highly recommended!

Daging Dendeng Hitam features succulent slices of beef cooked in dark sauce. The sauce is made of soy sauce and palm sugar. The latter has a distinctive soothing sweetness that delights the tongue.

Nostalgia Raya

Kulit Ayam Cili Kering is a rare delicacy indeed. The crispy chicken skin is exquisite!

Warung Bazaar
Gulai Kawah
In the countryside, feasts are usually prepared in a communal setting. This is why such dishes are cooked in oversized woks called “kawah”.

Asam Pedas Warisan
Asam Pedas Warisan is a spicy dish with deep roots in traditional Malay cuisine. Tamarind gives the dish a potent punch of sourness that induces appetite.

Mee Kuali
Mee Kuali is a common sight at Ramadan bazaars. Noodles are cooked in large woks in a spectacular fashion.

The Mee Goreng Mamak here is exceptionally delicious. Each strand of noodle is cooked to perfection: neither sticky nor soggy. The dish is aromatic and tantalizes the taste buds with fiery spiciness. We cannot recommend the Mee Goreng Mamak highly enough.

Lemak Salai

Bubur & Sup “Letup”
The explosive Sup “Letup” elevates the definition of spiciness to new heights. The soup is tasty to the last drop!

Diners can add extra ingredients like beef slices, beef tripes and vegetables.

Meanwhile, Bubur Lambuk is indispensable during Ramadan. Here, the congee is soft and very comforting to the palate.

Nasi Ayam Padu
Hainanese Chicken and Roasted Chicken are both available. The former is poached at sub-boiling temperatures such that the chicken remains succulent.

The accompanying rice is cooked with chicken stock from the poaching process. This explains why the rice is so fragrant and mouthwatering.

Aneka Murtabak
Are you a fan of Murtabak? The buffet at Courtyard Setia Alam has not one, but four types of Murtabak!

Guests can choose from Chicken Murtabak, Beef Murtabak, Lamb Murtabak and Vegetable Murtabak. Which is your favorite type?

Murtabak is customarily served with vegetable dhal, potato curry and pickled onions.

Soup & Bread

Dapur Mee & Bakso
Soup choices here are Asam Laksa, Kari Laksa, Tom Yum and Bakso. Our favorite here is Bakso!

Whichever soup you pick, there are over a dozen ingredients that go well with it. For Bakso, beef balls are the obvious choice. The meatballs are springy and absolutely irresistible!

Street Snacks
“Terang Bulan” is the Indonesian name of the snack that we usually call “Apam Balik”.

At this action counter, the sweet pancakes are made fresh on the spot. Terang Bulan is best enjoyed while it is still hot from the pan.

Not to forget deep-fried snacks such as Pisang Goreng (banana fritters) and Cucur Udang (prawn fritters).

Sweet Desserts
Among the various sweet porridges, Bubur Pulut Hitam is the absolute must-try this evening! The porridge strikes a balanced consistency and sweetness, ensuring that it does not become surfeiting. Meanwhile, rich coconut milk elevates the taste to an entirely new level, making one serving simply not enough!

Starbucks Coffee
Courtyard Setia Alam has partnered with Starbucks to bring in new espresso machines! With a press of a button, you can now enjoy a fresh cup of joe from this popular brand of coffee.
