The menu was Chef Barani’s first creation upon taking the helm of The Courtyard, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. Drawing inspiration from Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage, the menu blends sweet, savory and spicy flavors in a whimsical approach.

Guests can choose from a wide selection of drinks. For tea lovers, the premium Harney & Sons label offers tea varieties such as English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Chamomile and Sencha Green Tea.
Freshly brewed coffee is available too. In addition, guests also can opt for Malaysian favorites like Teh Tarik, Nescafe Tarik, Milo and Kopi O.
Cold Savories
Our afternoon tea begins with a delightful starter, Coronation Chicken Sandwich. This classic English recipe features tender chicken mixed with mild spices like curry powder.
The Smoked Salmon Mille-Feuille features rich flavors of salmon within a delicate, layered texture. Served on the puff pastry are briny pops of avruga caviar, adding a luxurious touch to each bite.
The Malaysian Egg Burger with Sambal Mayo & Cucumber has the familiar taste of nasi lemak that Malaysians know and love. With a spicy-sweet kick and satisfying crunch, this miniature burger instantly brings back nostalgic memories of childhood.
Next in line is the Crab Meat Sandwich with Tobiko, which is filled with actual crab meat. A subtle hint of wasabi offers a gentle kick of heat without being overly pungent.
Warm Bites
The Steamed Bao with Beef Rendang is an interesting marriage of Malay and Chinese flavors. The soft bun is generously stuffed with slow-cooked rendang. Pulled to a tender finish, the beef is spicy and deeply aromatic. Each bite is satisfying indeed.
The Roti Jala with Chicken Curry is our personal favorite this afternoon. The net-like crêpe pairs perfectly with the rich, flavorful curry.
The Prawn & Chicken Money Bag delights the palate with its golden-brown crispy skin and the savory filling inside. The snack is complemented by sweet-tangy Thai chili sauce.
Pavilion Cucur Udang are deep-fried fritters made of shrimps. This popular street food has a scrumptious crisp, and goes well with sweet chili sauce.
The Seafood Curry Noodle is a heritage dish served in a modern, elegant style. The broth is exceptionally rich and flavorful. We cannot recommend this dish highly enough!
Sweet Treats
The meal progresses to a selection of sweet treats, starting with the delightful Mango Short Cake. This light sponge cake is topped with cream and mango, delivering tropical indulgence with every bite.
Teh Tarik Mousse is inspired by Malaysia’s national drink. Upon the first bite, our mouths are filled with caramelized creaminess and soothing fragrance of Ceylonese tea!
The Onde-Onde Cake is a moist cake infused with coconut, pandan and gula Melaka. These ingredients echo the flavors of the traditional onde-onde kuih.
The Sarawak Layer Cake has a buttery texture within its colorful layers. Crafted in-house, this cake needs to be prepared layer by layer, and is truly a labor of love.
The Banana Choux is a choux pastry filled with a smooth banana cream. This mouthwatering treat is blessed with the natural sweetness of bananas, a local fruit beloved in Malaysia.
The Hazelnut Chocolate Tart is a decadent final treat. Its chocolatey filling is held within a buttery tart shell, and adorned with a beautiful gold leaf.
