Manila Place used to be located at Gurney Place, but it has moved indoors to the new wing of Gurney Plaza, just next to Dragon-i.
Contrary to its name, Manila Place does not serve Filipino food. Instead, it is a typical Western restaurant.
Once we were seated, we were served with complementary Hot Buns with some butter spread.
Our first menu item was the Chicken Cordon Bleu (RM18.90). This dish is made of chicken breast meat and ham, wrapped in bread crumbs batter. The center was supposed to be oozing with melted cheese, but was not the case.
The Grilled Mushroom Chicken (RM16.90) was commendable. The chicken was cooked just nice and blends well with the creamy mushroom gravy. Like the Chicken Cordon Bleu, it was served with some wedges and salad.
But the best has yet to come! The red flesh of Grilled Salmon Fillet (RM29.90) was so appealing that I was drooling over it. Once in the mouth, the taste was tender and juicy. I also liked how it matched with the lemon butter sauce. The portion was pretty large and justified the price.
For drinks, we had a glass of Fresh Carrot Juice (RM6.90), a glass of Oreo Milkshake (RM8.90), and a glass of Iced Latte (RM7.90).
Manila Place does have some good offerings and deserves another visit.
