The New “Sedap Restaurant”

Sedap Restaurant has transformed its ambiance to perfectly complement the upcoming Japanese-themed buffet helmed by Chef Hiroshi Masuda. As part of this special event, the restaurant has undergone a makeover with a touch of Japanese aesthetics. Even the staff members are dressed in traditional Japanese kimono attire to warmly welcome guests!

Chef Hiroshi Masuda is a master of Japanese kaiseki cuisine. His culinary journey has taken him to various countries such as Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Dubai, Russia, Germany, and of course, Japan. He has even participated in the Iron Chef Thailand Competition. This extensive experience showcases not only his expertise but also the wide range of culinary skills he possesses.

Chef Hiroshi Masuda has a special skill in handling sashimi. In the video, the sashimi knife he uses has been with him for 30 years. This truly highlights that only those who consider culinary art as a lifelong pursuit possess such remarkable skill and dedication.

Japanese-style Appetizer

Let’s start by introducing the incredibly distinctive Japanese-style appetizers. These appetizers are all delicately presented on small plates

Onsen Tamago – One of the standout appetizers is the Onsen Tamago, which boasts a tender and silky texture.


Chilled Soba Noodles – Chilled to create a soothing sensation as you savor each strand.

Japanese Potato Sald – savors the rich and refreshing flavors

Unagi Kabayaki – Succulent Grilled Eel

Sashimi

The freshly sliced sashimi served on-site boasts exceptional freshness – the fish retains its firm and delightful texture, maintaining its integrity without falling apart.

Today’s featured sashimi includes Salmon, Tuna, and Yellowtail.

The Tuna sashimi we tried was from a relatively solid part of the fish, with a lower fat content. Its deep red flesh exhibited a firm texture; the Tuna here are perfect for those who enjoy an authentic and unadulterated taste.


The Salmon Otoro is rich in fat content, offering a smooth and fatty sensation upon consumption. For those who prefer a less oily option, there are other cuts available with equally firm and sweet flesh.

Sushi

Today’s presentation mainly consists of Nigiri Sushi and Maki Sushi.

The arrangement of the sushi is beautifully diverse.

Grilled Black Cod Teriyaki – This is Chef Hiroshi Masuda’s signature dish! The fish in this dish isn’t simply drizzled with teriyaki sauce after cooking, but it’s cooked together with the teriyaki sauce, making it incredibly flavorful! The cooked fish remains tender and not tough, with layers of flavor unfolding in each bite – highly recommended!

This Grilled Lamb Chop with Wasabi Miso is highly recommended for everyone to try! The lamb chops are perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy, with the Wasabi Miso sauce incorporating a touch of wasabi paste, adding a hint of spiciness to the savory flavor, creating a truly remarkable taste experience.

Japanese Curry Chicken – This curry dish not only carries the sweetness of carrots and potatoes, but also subtly incorporates various spices that add a hint of spiciness, creating a multi-layered flavor profile that’s both slightly spicy and pleasantly aromatic.

Chawanmushi with Grilled Ango Conger – Unlike the typical chawanmushi, Chef Hiroshi Masuda’s rendition of this dish is not only silky smooth but also carries a delightful umami essence. The egg in your mouth already embodies the savory notes of soy sauce and the freshness of the fish. This unique flavor is achieved by incorporating Grilled Ango Conger into the chawanmushi.


Simmered Beef Cheek – The slow-cooked beef cheek is incredibly tender and succulent! No need for chewing; simply let it rest on your tongue and the meat will melt away effortlessly. The abundant juices release in your mouth, creating a rich and delectable flavor.

Warabi Mochi Starch Jelly with Syrup & Soy Bean – Warabi mochi, a traditional Japanese delicacy enjoyed by the nobility in ancient times, offers a cool sensation that’s perfect for the summer.

Warabi mochi is crafted from bracken starch, resulting in a translucent and cooling jelly-like texture. It’s soft and elastic to the bite, yet with an even lighter and more refreshing feel
