Vibrant blue rice stained with butterfly pea flowers and a spread of over a hundred Malay delicacies signal the return of heritage flavors to Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South. The hotel is set to host an expansive culinary showcase this festive season that bridges ancestral recipes with contemporary execution.

Festive Highlights
Led by Executive Chef Ramdhan Soffian, the kitchen brigade including specialists Chef Hasna, Chef Raymond, and Chef Haikal has curated an experience that focuses on the depth of local ingredients and the complexity of traditional spice pastes.

Nasi Kerabu Telor Sotong by Chef Hasna
A standout highlight is the Nasi Kerabu by Chef Hasna, which utilizes an authentic recipe with zero compromise on ingredients to revive the true “kampung” taste.

This dish delivers a complete profile of flavors, featuring an assembly of assorted vegetables, toasted coconut, and savory fish floss.

The experience is further elevated by the inclusion of charred daging bakar and lemak bakar, which provides a rich, smoky depth to the plate.

Patrons should also look for the Solok Lada, a traditional specialty popular in the east coast consisting of peppers stuffed with fresh fish and grated coconut.

Oyster Omelette by Chef Raymond
For those who enjoy something hot and sizzling, Chef de Cuisine Raymond introduces a localized favorite with his Signature Oyster Omelette.

This dish features a fluffy, local-style omelette generously filled with small Pacific oysters and is best paired with a selection of three special signature sauces.

Jackfruit Honey Mousse by Chef Haikal
Chef Haikal introduces a creative finale with his Jackfruit Honey Mousse, a signature dessert that blends local tropical flavors with Western pastry techniques.

This fusion creation features the sweetness of local jackfruit folded into a light, airy mousse, offering a sophisticated balance between traditional Malaysian produce and contemporary dessert styling.

Live Carvery
Succulent roasted lamb seasoned with local spices and carved fresh for diners.

Through Heritage Flavors
Beyond the signature highlights, the buffet features over a hundred traditional Malay dishes that serve as essential staples for any festive celebration. Guests can explore a deep variety of heritage flavors, starting with the robust Tujuh Gulai Kawah.

The traditional Malay culinary experience always come with a fresh selection of ulam-ulaman, various spicy sambals, and an array of assorted kerabu.

Guests can also enjoy festive essentials like Ketupat and Rendang in the buffet.

Originating from the streets of Penang, Nasi Kandar is a quintessential Malaysian experience where a plate of steamed rice is “flooded” with a symphony of various curry gravies.

This heritage dish, historically sold by vendors balancing containers on a wooden pole (kandar), is celebrated for its diverse side dishes ranging from spiced fried chicken to tender beef.

The noodle station features Laksam, characterized by its thick, rolled rice noodles served in a creamy, mild fish gravy, alongside the punchy and tangy Asam Laksa Penang with its signature tamarind-based broth.

A hallmark of Malay festive feasting, Soup Gear Box (Kambing) is an aromatically spiced bone broth, highly prized for its deep flavor and tender meat.
