This year, the spirit of Chinese New Year comes to life at Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur!

The hotel offers several Chinese set menus to welcome the Year of the Horse. These culinary offerings celebrate the spirit of abundance and family harmony.
There are four set menus to choose from. These sets are priced from RM1,388 net per table (10 people). To accommodate small families, Dorsett Hartamas also caters to dining parties as small as 5.

The set meals are usually served at Table Talk. However, diners can request for private dining if meeting rooms are available.

Abundance of Golden Fortune
Today, we have the pleasure of tasting the Feast of Fortune set menu (RM1,588 net per table of 10). However, the starter is upgraded to Prosperity Salmon with Crystal Pear Yee Sang, which is usually part of the Harmony & Happiness set menu (RM1,688 net per table of 10).

This appetizer elevates the traditional prosperity toss by pairing the fresh salmon slices with sweet pears. The delightful balance of textures is ideal to kickstart the “Lo Hei” ritual.

Treasure of Harmony
The Eight Treasure Seafood Soup features a medley of seafood ingredients simmered in a savory broth. It symbolizes a year of collective blessings and abundance.

Sweet Fortune Roast
This is essentially Char Siu Chicken with Special Sauce. The tender chicken is prepared in classic Cantonese barbecue style. The sweet-savory sauce caramelizes beautifully, symbolizing a sweet and pleasant year ahead.

Prosperity Carve
The next dish is Lamb Shoulder with Chef Signature Sauce. These succulent cuts of lamb shoulder are easy on the palate. If you prefer beef instead, ask if you can switch for Stir-Fried Beef Black Pepper — We think it is one of the best in town!

Golden Wealth Prawns
Wok-Fried Sea Butter Prawns with Egg Crumble are served elegantly on a crispy noodle nest.

The prawns are fried to golden perfection, leaving fragrant and buttery aroma in its wake. The egg topping, airy and crispy, represents a plentiful harvest in the years ahead.

Ocean of Auspice
The next course is Deep-Fried Garoupa with Sweet Sour Sauce. Fish is considered auspicious because it symbolizes abundance throughout the new year.

The grouper is topped with sweet-tangy sauce that goes well with its delicate texture.

Blooming Harmony Greens
After several heavy dishes, Stir-Fried Broccoli with Mushroom & Dried Oysters serves as a counterpoint. In Cantonese, oysters sound like “good business” or “good things happening”. This explains the frequent inclusion of oysters in Chinese New Year feasts.

Fortune Wok Delight
Just before desserts, we are treated to Yong Chow Fried Rice & Chicken and Silver Anchovies. Anchovies give the rice dish an appetizing boost of umami and saltiness.

Auspicious Sweet Blessings
The first of two desserts is Steamed Nian Gao with Fresh Grated Coconut. Made of glutinous rice flour, the sticky rice cakes are a festive staple as they represent greater heights in the coming year.

Refreshing Luck & Longevity
The other dessert is a chilled soup: Longan, Sea Coconut, Snow Fungus & Red Dates. This combination of ingredients provides cool, refreshing finish to the feast.
