For those seeking a convenient escape without leaving the city, a staycation at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya offers a modern urban retreat unlike any other hotel. Located adjacent to Paradigm Mall, the hotel’s prime location makes it an ideal destination to recharge without the hassle that comes with traveling.

A stay at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya has everything you need for a weekend getaway. Besides comfortable rooms and facilities, the hotel also provides many dining options to tantalize your senses. In addition, being connected to the mall offers endless shopping and entertainment options too.

Checking-in

Guests arriving by taxi will alight at the hotel’s concourse. Meanwhile if you are driving, there are ample park spaces in the basement levels.

In either case, an elevator will take you to the Le Méridien Hub on Level 2. This dynamic space allows guests to relax and mingle around with fellow vacationers in a relaxing manner.

The Le Méridien Hub is the modern concept of a traditional hotel lobby. The check-in process is seamless and hassle-free.

Quench your thirst with some refreshments while waiting to be checked in. While 3:00pm is the official check-in time, you can always check with the front desk if early check-in is possible.

Tracing its roots to the aviation sector, the Le Méridien brand is inspired by a philosophy of Timeless Chic Design. This approach is reflected in every detail including the key cards. Our card depicts Le Scoop by Le Méridien, a quintessential frozen treat that is exclusively available at Le Méridien hotels.

Deluxe King Room

Our room, the Deluxe King, is located on Level 24. The 36 sqm-living space is furnished with a king-sized bed, making it ideal for two people. A small daybed next to the window is a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy the scenery outside.

An LCD television across the room provides endless entertainment with multiple TV and movie channels. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, allowing guests to stay connected at all times. As for guests with small children, baby cribs can be arranged upon request.

Designed for a restful stay, the guestroom includes thoughtful touches like blackout curtains, nightlights and excellent soundproofing. Before going to bed, all lighting can be disabled by simply pressing the master switch.

The room’s ensuite bathroom is somewhat hidden from view. Simply slide the wardrobe door to reveal the dressing area.

Large mirror, vanity mirror and hairdryer are available at the well-lit dressing area, making personal grooming a breeze. Toiletries such as dental kit and shower cap are provided too.

The shower stall and toilet are separated for the convenience of guests. The presence of a rain shower is certainly welcoming. Nothing awakens the senses like a hot shower in the morning!

Scented shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash and moisturizer are supplied by Malin+Goetz, an American brand of personal care products for all genders, skin types and tones. This partnership is in line with Le Méridien’s promise to provide creative experiences, as both brands share a passion for design and discovery.

Put on a comfortable bathrobe and bath slippers after a nice bath. In case you need to iron your clothes, the electric iron and ironing board are located inside the wardrobe.

The minibar and in-room safe are inconspicuously built into the cabinet so that they remain hidden from plain view. In case you need to make some hot drinks, there are instant coffee sachets, tea bags, ceramic cups and a water boiler.

Le Méridien Petaling Jaya provides 24-hour in-room dining, much to the convenience of business travelers. One interesting detail is the ability to pre-order breakfast for the next day. Just fill up the breakfast card and hang it outside your room door. This ensures that you have exactly what you want for breakfast, exactly when you want it!

Recreation & Relaxation

Unlock Art™

The Le Méridien brand is closely associated to art and culture through its Unlock Art™ program. At the lift waiting area, a piece of art creatively depicts the topography of Bukit Gasing. This nature park serves as the green lung of Petaling Jaya, and can be reached in a short drive from the hotel.

At the Concourse Level, there are giant replicas of traditional Malay games such as congkak and gasing. Check with the hotel staff if you want to learn how these games are played.

As for background music, Le Méridien engages Nouvelle Vague (a French cover band that means “new wave”) to create a curated playlist. Played around the clock, the soundtrack is present everywhere: lobby, hallways and even inside elevators! This subtle feature serves as a reminder for guests to slow down and relax.

We are surprised to see a welcome kit on our bed. The kit includes a complimentary pass to the National Art Gallery. Indeed, Le Méridien encourages its guests to explore and be inspired by local experiences. The kit also includes a voucher for complimentary coffee, redeemable at the lounge any time at your convenience.

Swimming Pool

Au Soleil is Le Méridien’s signature summer program which offers a variety of themed experiences during the season. These include refreshing drinks, tropical-themed light bites and summertime afternoon tea set.

Especially during the Au Soleil season, the rooftop pool is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

On a clear day, the infinity pool offers breathtaking views of the Petaling Jaya skyline.

On a clear day, you can even spot the iconic skyscrapers of Kuala Lumpur from a distance. See if you can identify the Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur Tower, Merdeka 118 and The Exchange 106?

For junior explorers, there is a separate kid’s pool that is much shallower. This pool is only 1-foot deep, so children can safely splash and play here without disturbing other guests.

Regardless, children should be supervised at all times as there are no lifeguards on duty. For safety reasons, the swimming pools are closed after sunset.

Urban Skydeck

In case you prefer to keep your feet dry, chill out on one of the sunloungers next to the infinity pool.

If sunbathing is not your cup of tea but still want to enjoy the cool breeze, the Urban Skydeck has a sheltered section too.

One must not miss the opportunity to have a selfie taken with the giant “I Love PJ” sign here!

The Urban Skydeck offers some of the most spectacular views in Petaling Jaya. Since the viewing platform covers the entire rooftop, you can get a 360-degree panorama the city’s skyline!

We highly recommend that you also pay a visit to the Urban Skydeck after sunset. The night view from this vantage point is truly mesmerizing. Immerse yourself in a dazzling display of golden lights across Klang Valley!

Fitness Centre

Located on Level 29, the fitness centre allows guests to stay active while enjoying the idyllic scenery outside.

The gym is well equipped with state-of-the-art exercise equipment like treadmills, stationary bicycle and weight machines.

Eager to catch your favorite movie while working out? No problem, each exercise machine comes with a personal TV screen. There aren’t any more excuses not to hit the gym, are there?

For convenience of gym-goers, there is a dispenser for drinking water as well as cold towels in the mini fridge. The locker room is located nearby.

Need to listen to music while exercising? Just borrow a pair of earphones from the front desk.

Le Méridien Club

Marriott Bonvoy Elite members and guests in Club-level rooms enjoy complimentary access to the Le Méridien Club. The exclusive lounge provides a private space for breakfast and evening cocktails. Snacks and refreshments are available throughout the day.

Breakfast

Having breakfast at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya is an indispensable component of the staycation experience. The meal is served at Pasar Baru at Level 2. The buffet spread here covers a diverse mix of local and international fares.

For starters, get a refreshing glass of chilled juice to awaken your taste buds.

In honor of its continental origins, Le Méridien’s breakfast includes a variety of classic artisan breads. Various bread spreads are provided too.

Do you prefer toasted bread? A converter oven turns fresh bread into lovely toasts within seconds!

In addition, Pasar Baru also provides gluten-free bread for people with specific dietary needs.

Another essential element of Le Méridien’s breakfast experience is the cheese platter.

The egg station is where egg dishes are prepared à la minute. Poached eggs? Scrambled eggs? Omelettes? You name it!

To fulfill its commitment to healthy eating and sustainability, Le Méridien Petaling Jaya uses only cage-free eggs here. The motto “Happier hens for a healthier you” perfectly underscores this philosophy.

The Rose Éclair on the breakfast menu is highly recommended. The classic pastry is given a unique modern twist that reflects the local palate.

Nasi Lemak is a must as it is the national dish, delighting Malaysians from all walks of life. The coconut-infused rice dish also offers foreign tourists an authentic taste of local flavors.

Nasi Lemak is typically enjoyed with accompaniments like rendang ayam (dry chicken curry), ikan bilis (anchovies), hard-boiled egg, roasted peanuts, cucumber and sambal (chili paste). Several types of sambal are prepared: plain, onions and cockles.

Another crowd favorite that Malaysians know and love is Roti Canai! You can watch the chef preparing this popular flatbread on the grilling pan.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. For a hands-on experience of the Malaysian kopitiam scene, try toasting thick slices of “Bengali” bread on a traditional charcoal grill! Kaya (coconut jam) and butter are typically spread on the bread.

Pasar Baru is renowned for its Teh Tarik, a milk tea beverage known for its frothy top after being “pulled” between two cups. Meanwhile, local Kopi Kaw is served in a nostalgic ceramic cup and saucer! Of course, you can still order espresso coffee and Ceylonese tea should you prefer so.

If you love Indian cuisine, you can savor a fragrant array of curries and spiced dishes.

The breakfast buffet also provides guests with a taste for Chinese flavors. If available, you should try Chi Kut Teh, a poultry rendition of Bak Kut Teh.

As for desserts, help yourselves with a selection of fresh fruits including the ultimate superfood — bananas! The breakfast buffet also offers a variety of freshly squeezed juices to start your day on the right foot.

More Dining Choices

Le Méridien Petaling Jaya offers more dining options for in-house guests and walk-in customers.

Pasar Baru

Pasar Baru is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. Besides its acclaimed breakfast buffet which we described earlier, the eatery also has an à la carte menu of classic Asian and Western dishes.

Pasar Baru serves themed buffets on selected days too. During our stay, the Hooked on Salmon Dinner Buffet and Elevated Weekend High Tea Buffet are ongoing promotions. The buffet themes are refreshed every few months to take advantage of fresh ingredients in each season.

As a year-round treat, Le Scoop by Le Méridien offers a unique taste of European-style ice cream. Several flavors of gelato and sorbet are available each season. While classic ones like chocolate and vanilla are always present, there are occasionally destination-inspired varieties such as onde-onde and teh tarik!

As a family-friendly hotel, there is a kids play area at one corner of Pasar Baru.

PJ’s Bar & Grill

Head up to PJ’s Bar & Grill for a memorable evening of steaks, cocktails and fresh air. This establishment is one of the most scenic rooftop bars in Klang Valley.

Perched at the top of the building, PJ’s Bar & Grill has the distinction of having breathtaking views of the surrounding neighborhood.

Overall, the venue is sophisticated and relaxing, ideal for hosting birthday parties and romantic dinners. There is no better way to spend the evening than to sip a glass of wine against the golden sunset!

PJ’s Bar & Grill specializes in premium steaks and Western cuisine. Meanwhile, the full bar is stocked with all sorts of alcoholic beverages including liquors, cocktails, beers and wines.

Latitude 03° 06’

Each Le Méridien hotel has a lobby lounge that is uniquely named after one of its geographic coordinates — either its longitude or latitude. This convention pays homage to the brand’s aviation roots while giving each outlet a sense of uniqueness. In the case of Le Méridien Petaling Jaya, the lounge is known as Latitude 03° 06’.

Petit Plates is a collection of destination-inspired hors d’oeuvres that infuse classic European recipes with seasonal ingredients and local flavors. These chic small plates are the perfect pairing with sparkling apéritifs such as rosé.

At Le Méridien, the afternoon tea set varies by season: Au Soleil during the summer, Là Fête in the winter, and Avec Amour for Valentine’s. During our stay, the Au Soleil Afternoon Tea Set is served. Be sure to enquire about the current seasonal offering during your stay.

As with all Le Méridien hotels, Latitude 03° 06’ serves premium illy coffee. Quick tip: Remember the voucher that comes with the welcome kit? You can redeem your complimentary cup of joe here!

Grab & Go

Located next to the hotel’s concourse, the Grab & Go booth is only open on weekdays. This quick service outlet sells light bites, pastries, coffee and other beverages — perfect for guests on the go. While waiting for your cab, why not grab something to eat on the way to the airport?
